Phil Shorten

Phil is a Business Moderator and Training Consultant. He has been consulting to meet public and private sector client needs for the past 19 years, including 5 years with Training Services Australia in Sydney . For the past 14 years has been the Managing Partner of Impart Skills Pty Ltd.

Phil has helped over 5,000 people in Australia and Asia since 1984 develop skills in Training, Facilitation and Leadership skills. As a consultant, Phil has extensive experience advising clients in the areas of organisational learning, and in areas of workplace culture and change management. As a facilitator, Phil has particular experience and interest in business improvement using PinPlan as a method of working and learning. As Managing Partner he has been responsible for the business achieving status as a Registered Training provider in Australia , as well as being the number one provider of Trainer Training in Malaysia . Phil is also developing nationally recognised programs, building strategic partner relationships with clients and other training providers and manages both local and international  projects.

Phil is also the author of a 9 session self-paced Train the Trainer video produced in association with Network Ten, "Helping People to Learn". Phil was also a subject matter expert on the CBT Systems CD Rom program, Leading a Team, which won a Gold in the UK Training Design awards 1999.

Volker Latus

Volker Latus is a Trainer and business facilitator with more than 15 years experience in Europe, Asia and Australia. His speciality is the "Moderation Method", the basis of our PinPlan Visual Discussion System. Volker’s experience includes process consulting work with major private companies and public institutions in organisational and cultural change and planning. You also benefit from him as an excellent facilitator in participative and active group work processes. Volker has also extensive experience and strength in the design and delivery of customised training workshops and active learning processes including moderation/ facilitation and presentation skills, leading people, managing conflicts in the workplace, team management, train-the-trainer, consulting skills, business-networking and intercultural communication. Volker is tertiary qualified with a Masters Degree in Business Administration at the German University of Göttingen. He holds the Australian Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and is accredited as Trainer for Leadership and Management Skills by the European Commission in Brussels.

Colin Sharp

Colin is partner with Impart Skills and the strategic process and systems consultant. He has worked in both the military and private enterprise in Australia, England and China. His experiences ranges from maintenance, projects and operations management in manufacturing environments to strategic plan development for small and large corporations.
Colin brings rigorous thinking processes and models to assist clients develop their own management systems to improve organisational control in increasingly complex environments.
Colin is skilled in the use of the PinPlan visual discussion methodology, employed exclusively by Impart Skills in their work. This benefits his work by more fully exploiting the intellectual capacity of the group so that more rational decisions are made faster, saving time and money.

Colin also lectures in Strategic Management program at the undergraduate level in Sydney and has previously lectured the Entrepreneurial Management course at the University of Western Sydney.

Fran Scarlett

Fran is a qualified educator, including a Diploma in Training and Assessment Systems, with extensive senior and executive management experience Fran was the founding CEO of FutureStaff Limited, a specialist company operating nationally and providing employment, training and human resource support services to the Financial Services industry. Prior to joining the finance industry Fran had a broad ranging background at executive level in the N.S.W. Department of Education and in key representative roles across many areas of community and local government.

 

In particular, Fran has specialised skills in implementing a competency framework in the financial services industry including the implementation of ASIC policy 146 on the training and supervision of authorized representatives required under Financial Services Reform Bill (FSRB) legislation. She was elected Chair of the National Finance Industry Training Advisory Body and a member of the ASIC steering committee to oversee the development of personal competencies for principals and advisors providing financial advisory services.

Louella Hodge

Louella is a specialist trainer of trainers with extensive experience and qualifications. Louella’s corporate experience includes Team Leader and Training Manager for a business unit of DEET, also as a Training Consultant for Training Services Australia, a national Trainer training consultancy. For the past five years, Louella has been developing the competencies of Trainers around Australia with Impart Skills. Louella is a nationally recognised Workplace Trainer (Cert IV).

Louella has covered the full range of Operator, Supervisor and Management training. Her current focus is designing and delivering tailored programs for clients based on the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. She particularly enjoys designing interactive learning and assessment interventions. Using games and drama to build team skills. She blends her facilitative style with a determination to achieve meaningful results for the client.

Gregg Barclay

Gregg is a training and organisation design consultant based in Canberra. He has been providing service to government and private industry organisations for the past 13 years.

Gregg has designed and delivered courses to develop and qualify trainers, assessors, managers and organisational consultants. They include intensive workshops in presentation techniques and group facilitation skills; training needs assessment and course design; management skills and change management consulting skills.

Gregg has participated in developing competencies and standards for NTB, industry and enterprise requirements for various groups including the Waterfront, Fire Services and the Australian Public Service.

Gregg has a Diploma of Teaching in Adult Education, a Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Canberra and is currently completing a Diploma in Training and Assessment.
