German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce - “Expat
Excellence” Workshop
"On 24 May, the
Chamber in cooperation with Impart Skills and Goerdel Consulting offered a
German-Australian Culture Workshop “Expat Excellence” – How to make the
best of an expatriate assignment? and more than 25 members took the
opportunity to meet other expatriates and those who employ expatriates in
order to discuss various issues of interest. The workshop was driven by the
initial question “How to make the most of your experience working and
living in Australia?”
and “How to get the best return of expatriates?”. Volker Latus and Colin
Sharp from Impart Skills guided the participants through a very interactive
and demonstrative half-day forum and Maren Goerdel from Goerdel Consulting
gave extensive advice based on her long-term expatriate experiences
illustrated by a case study. The participants were identifying specific
problems existing in their own organisations and were developing strategies
so that actions can be initiated to resolve them. Furthermore, networking
with others and making contacts to members in similar situations to improve
a support network “down under” was a very important part of this forum as
well."

New 'TAA04 Certificate IV Training and Assessment' Training Package
In November 2004
the new TAA04 Training Package 'Certificate IV in Training and Assessment'
was released. It will replace the current Certificate IV Workplace Training
and Assessment Training Package BSZ98 (no more enrolments in the BSZ40198
after 23 November 2005; after 23 November 2006, all training will be
against the TAA04 standards).
GOOD
NEWS: The new qualification promotes the idea that people attend modules
for units of competency that relate to their role rather then just for the
sake of doing the whole Certificate IV. A more tailored solution for
trainers - less cost for corporate Australia!
